Excellent restaurant, great food and great service, we had a wonderful dinner , highly recommended.
Homemade pasta dishes were incredible, would definitely return! One of the best restaurants we went to on our trip around Italy.
Best Italian food ever! A must try while in Rome!
Typical Italian osteria, delicious and traditional foods. Prices are good.
Fabulous family-run place. Everything first-rate. Found it on our first day in Trastevere (frankly, we were lost). Every day, there is a 10 euro meal: pasta, meat dish (full size portions) and 0.5 l water. Best value in Rome. Every customer seems to be a regular, so be ready to wait a few minutes for service while they chat. Menus are not always on hand, so if your Italian is not so good (definitely no English spoken there), just go with the menu of the day. If you're not so hungry, just go for penne all'Arrabbiatta and mezzo rosso (half litre of red wine for 4 or 5 euros). This is a genuine, authentic, real (help me out with more adjectives) Roman trattoria, founded in 1931; pictures on the wall show the evolution of the place. That is the real Rome experience.
Their food is to die for, everything is made so maticulously.
The best restaurant we went to during our weekend in Rome. It’s a traditional Roman restaurant with a super friendly staff and great food. You should definitely try the artichoke and the carbonara.
Authentic Roman cuisine. Delicious. My favorite was the ravioli with butter and sage. To die for!!
Words can’t describe my love for this restaurant. We went to pay homage to Anthony Bourdain who said of this restaurant “I love this place. I want to die here already, and I might yet.” The first dish we had was the Carciofi E Prosciutto. It was spectacular. The artichoke was cooked in olive oil until it’s soft. The Fettuccine al Tartufo was incredible. Fresh, homemade fettuccine with mushrooms, artichoke and fried prosciutto. Simple, hearty and flavorful. One of my favorite meals of all time. The grandmother makes the pasta by hand in the dining room. I speak no Italian, and they spoke no English. But we laughed our way through fumbled conversations. Genuine, warm interactions. Thank you!
Good place with traditional food
We found this restaurant through reviews and of course Anthony Bourdain. They were able to accomodate us last minute at a patio table.Unfortunately, this place falls victim to the massive pitfall of gaining so much publicity, that the food doesnt live up to the hype. To sum it up: We felt like we were eating plates of salt and not food.
Good honest traditional Roman cuisine at reasonable prices. Definitely not a tourist trap.
Delicious food! We were so thrilled to find this neighborhood restaurant. The food isn't just fantastic, local cuisine, it is reasonably priced, and the friendly atmosphere is wonderful. We will be returning again this weekend!
The best experience in our two week trip in Italy. They treated us like family and were gracious host for dinner for my wife and I. We sat outside along the side walk and felt part of the neighborhood. The food is on a scale this rating cannot reflect, from the vino and bread to the meatballs and the pasta this was a 100 star dinner. We enjoyed everything so much we made reservations for the next night when we paid our bill, with 75 Euros out the door I would pay that 10 times over!Thank you for making our evening so special!
Delicious food, with a mix of traditional and more creative dishes, a bit off the beaten path.
Good service, tasty food, cozy atmosphere!
Came here because of the late Anthony bourdain. Followed to his reviews and ordered the artichoke and fell in love with the menu. Thought I would be dining with locals but seems to be that all the locals get sent to another door inside where they leave the foreigners out. The food is slightly salty but overall atmosphere was good. the best part was the appetizer that they gave.
The truffle fettuccine was amazing.
I happened to pass by on one of my long walks through the city on the way to Bravetta. When I arrived home, I went to check with my Roman in-laws. Certainly they knew this place but had never been there. That has now changed and I have to say the food was delicious! We will definitely be back. Mecojoni!
Of course I eat too much! So good. The picture says everything
Excelent food! All ingredients made/cooked in the house.
We came here for the first night of our honeymoon. The carbonara and artichoke are not to be missed. Highly recommend and Elianore was a dream ! She held our hand to make sure we made all the right choices. RIP Anthony Bourdain.
Great and reasonably priced food, but most of all, what a fantastic atmosphere. Definitely going to be coming back in the future.
Wonderful - authentic food in an beautifully atmosphere and sooo friendly service, just wonderful !
Food is very tasty as well as wine, and the sercvice is very kind!
Amazing traditional Italian food
Dinner was great. Pasta was perfect.
very good pasta, but very bad picanha
Traditional local restaurant with a small kitchen. Friendly staffs and cozy atmosphere. Price is lower than in the center Rome of course but the quality is very good.
Food was amazing and the was very friendly.
I have traveled fairly extensively around the world and have eaten at many different restaurants as such but this has got to be one of the best culinary experiences I've ever had. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a friendly staff in a tiny seating area and a modest picture of Anthony Bourdain sitting at one of the very tables ahead of you and not to mention the immediate whiff of food being prepared - all signs that you've come to the right place. The food itself is impeccable, as a table of 9 we ordered nearly every dish on the menu and were not disappointed at all (special shout out to the trippa and caccio e peppe pasta),service was quick, friendly and there was plenty of wine flowing as well and all at extremely reasonable prices especially for being in the city of Rome. I would run back here in a heartbeat should I ever be in Rome again and would recommend the same to all!
"Da paura" as they say in Rome! Excellent authentic Roman food in a local neighbourhood atmosphere...I was alone but wish I had been with my family..but nonetheless I loved it..even the house wine was very decent and so was the service! I came out wondering why I never tried this place. before!
Traditional deliciousness. We had carciofi ala giudia (fried artichoke), cacio e pepe, gricia, amatriciana, and chocolate cake (which was a lava cake 😋), with a refosco dal peduncolo. All were excellent and highly recommended.
Wanted to get away from tourist area. Certainly succeeded in getting away and finding great local place with excellent food and friendly people
We had a lovely meal. Service was friendly and first rate.
very nice food at a decent price
Great food and atmosphere. Excellent dessert and pasta.
Great food, pleasant staff.
We visited last summer during our honeymoon and ended up having our favorite meal of the 2 week trip here. It was a long but enjoyable walk from the center of rome and totally worth it. It felt like an authentic Roman experience and the pasta blew us away. My favorite was the carbonara and my wife loved the ravioli with spinach and tomato. We can't wait to come back one day!
Excellent from start to finish. Worth the cab ride from center city. If you are super snobby, it’s not the place for you, but I feel for you because you won’t experience really good Italian food.
Really enjoyed the meals we had here! Like a family cooking dinner and serving you in their home. Wonderful meal, very polite and friends staff. Great atmosphere!
Felt more authentic and better value in comparison to the centre of Rome. Service was also very good.
Awsome experience, high quality food
Spent my birthday here in June. Found this place because of Anthony Bourdain and it did not disappoint one bit. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The food was very classic Roman and very comforting. Don’t skip the tripe! I would recommend this to anyone looking for classic Roman cuisine.
Such amazing people that own and run this restaurant. In honour of Anthony Bordain we came here and enjoyed some of the staple items he had and I as a vegan dove into their lentil soup. It was so friggen nostalgic unbelievably delicious and spectacular experience. One I will cherish forever!
This place might be my favorite experience on our trip to Rome! We were lucky enough to be staying close by. I saw the good reviews and decided to give it a go. When we arrived they asked if we had reservations...we didn't, which was poor planning on our part...and the owner and host literally removed some desserts from a display table to make room for us! The food was wonderful. The service was even better. They didn't treat us like tourists. They made us feel right at home.
Nice traditional Roman osteria...Cosy, delicious, simple and friendly :)
Recommended by a friend and I must say if you are going to Rome put this on a must do restaurant list. The food is fantastic and Anthony Bourdain featured it as well, As one of his favorite restaurants. Loved the fried artichokes. The Tiramisu is to die for and I will never eat it anywhere else but this restaurant!
Great local place full of locals. Prices are good. The guanciale for the gricia was utterly carbonized tho. A few seconds less would not hurt. That was my only dissapointment.
